It is with deepest sympathies to announce that our friend and mentor of our dance TGIF Dance Party, DJ Rick (The Saxman) Hughes, passed away Saturday night 8/17/2019 surrounded by his family. He fought a valiant fight with pancreatic cancerdefying the odds for almost five years. His reaction to his adversity was "never give up, enjoy life to the fullest." Ricky's humor, grace and strength were an inspiration to all of us, especially to those of us who were facing our own challenges.
Ricky was both a gifted disc jockey and musician. He was the much loved DJ at our dance for many years. Ricky was loved and appreciated by us and he loved and appreciated us. When we reopened the dance in 2015, Ricky helped and mentored us so we could continue the success of the dance.
We were lucky enough to hear Ricky play his saxophone at the dance a couple of weeks ago on August 2nd with the Full House Band on the patio.  He is now playing his sax in heaven and playing great music for the angels to dance.  We love you Ricky and you will be greatly missed by all.
